100 Hip-Hop Heads You MUST Follow on Twitter
Came across this just a little while ago while doing my regular catch-up of Nahright, 2DopeBoyz and SmokingSection. Its official twitter is getting huge.
As a somewhat late joiner to the twitter crowd, when I found the majority of these names the first time, it was out of chance. I knew a few peoples account names, I followed, checked who they read and so on. After a few months of this, I’m hooked and its clear that the rest of the world is starting to catch up as well.
While bloggers and nerds tend to be right on top of the social networking trends like twitter it seems now a days that hip-hop is next in line. It makes sense for clothing, music and entertainment, but it has been an amazing couple years watching hip-hop be a major force on the internet.
With artists making bigger names for themselves with zshare and megaupload to find their way onto hundreds of blogs-evolution brought them to twitter. The tech savvy hip-hop crowd, armed with blackberries and iphones have made Twitter their new home. So much so that songs are now world premiering and leaking here, often before you see it anywhere else. It has become the RSS feed with a human voice, chiming in at 140 word cap.
If you haven’t checked it out, why not sign up, and if you do you can find me here. Might as well get in now, before it jumps the shark and sells to google. But, by the time that happens, hip-hop will have already moved on.

A nice post by Jamie (who everyone should be following, anyway, for a well-informed take on hip-hop/design). As for Twitter, I can be found at http://twitter.com/itsthereal
